5 Easy Ways to De-Stress at Home

1. Take a Detox Bath

It's hard to beat a warm bath for relaxing… except of course if it's a detox PLUS CBD bath. There are SO many recipes but I think this one is one of the easiest and most accessible. Most of the ingredients will be around your house already.

A good CBD detox bath can help you relax, reduce stress and inflammation, help with muscle soreness/chronic pain and everything in between. It can also tend to make you tired so I suggest doing it as part of your nighttime routine.

CBD is extra miraculous in this format because it works on so many different systems of your body. It can help with anxiety, mood, sleep disorders, chronic pain - all these different areas of your life. Add it to an already relaxing detox bath ritual you'll be as de-stressed as ever.

2. Move. Your. Body.

No big secret here. Literally, move. Get up off the couch and go outside, take a walk, or do 5 push ups, 5 sit ups, 5 squats. Jump, dance, workout... anything that changes your physical state. Moving releases endorphins, endorphins make you feel good. Just MOVE. Even if it's only for 5 minutes.

3. CBD Tea

Make your favorite cup of tea - if we're de-stressing, we probably want to skip the caffeine, so go for chamomile or mint. Add a dropper of CBD and find a quiet place to take 10 minutes to enjoy it and breathe. Some possible CBD Tea benefits:

  • Reduces anxiety and depression
  • Benefits heart health
  • Offers neuroprotective effects
  • Offers pain relief from arthritis
  • Eases asthma symptoms
  • Alleviates chronic pain
  • Soothes upset stomach
  • Targets nervous system function
  • Reduces acne symptoms

4. Smile

I know. It sounds stupid, but multiple studies have confirmed it. Smiling makes you happier. Even moving your facial muscles in a way that mimics a smile (say holding a pen in your mouth) will trigger the brain into a more positive state. What does that mean for you? Fake it till you make it actually scientifically works in this case. If you want to feel better, smile...even if it's fake. If you don't want to sit around fake smiling, you can always turn on some stand up comedy, watch a funny movie or find another way to get to a real smile. Welcome to an instant mood booster - wherever you are.

5. Stretch

Stress in your muscles manifests as tightness, and when you stretch and relax those muscles, you can release mental stress. If you can't get the motivation to get up and move, at least stretch where you are. You can do this while you're laying in bed, sitting on the couch, at your desk, anywhere. There is no magic pill here, just do some simple stretches. Happy baby pose, child's pose, downward facing dog or simply stretching your hands and wrists will make a difference. Lift your hands over your head and then give yourself a hug. Don't make it complicated, just take two minutes and do it.

Max Effort Relaxation

I hope some of these tactics give you a little bit of relief. If you're a "Type A Relaxer" 🙋‍♀️ (haha-kind of defeats the purpose but still) you can do all of this at once. Make yourself some CBD tea, do a few squats in place while it brews, hop in a CBD detox bath, & smile and stretch while you're in there. Voila! Max effort relaxation. :)
